Gatesmill is a multi-level pressure-treated wood deck built around a single feature: a hot tub recessed into the lower level so it sits flush with the deck surface, not perched on top of it. Black aluminum balusters with a wood top rail frame the upper deck, lattice skirting closes off the underside cleanly, and a set of brick steps with a matching brick pad ties the deck back into the home's rear entry. A ceiling fan on the covered portion of the home keeps air moving on humid evenings.
